C-Systems Brings On The Heat
Nov 2nd
We recently came across a newly formed trance act called C-Systems when we heard their tracks “Heat” and “Reason To Live.” Curious, we set out to make contact with them.
C-Systems is a chance collaboration comprising of Staro, and Akki from Norway. They have all been respectively making music for several years, but have recently discovered that together, their synergy has the ability to churn out music for the masses.
So we caught up with C-Systems recently to find out more about them.

C-Systems
Greetings C-Systems! How are you today?
Hi guys, we’re great, thanks for asking.
How was C-Systems formed?
Well, Akki was producing a lot of dance music and some trance and he got picked up by Norwegian dance radio with his song ”Dreams”, a song he made with his friend Christian Zechner in 2005. Staro was also making some dance music and it was a coincidence that he also had a song on the radio named ”I Loose My Way” playing on the same radio channel. We started collaborating in the studio in 2005 and quickly established a specific sound together. After producing for a while we started getting good feedback from people around us, being played out in the clubs etc, so we decided to form a group, and needed a name that could be trancy and metallic in a way. We named it C-Systems.
We really love your track “Heat.” Tell us more about the making of this track.
We were actually working on the follow up to “November Mourning,” when Staro started playing some random great chords on the keyboard. He turned to me and said, “Hey Akki I think I got something here.” And I was like “Sure.” He told me to press record as he could not stop playing the chords afraid of forgetting them. Later Akki started tweaking the chords a bit and discovered they had a special feeling and sound. After that the song practically made it self. We asked Akki’s girlfriend Hanna Finsen to do some vocals, and it was a done deal. We loved it.
How has the response been to your new EP “Reason to Live” / “Taste of Life?”
Quite good actually, it has been supported by several DJs , considering they were more of the old C-systems sound, although we haven’t had any A-list DJ plays yet, we think it was a good release.
Trance Arts remixed your track “Reason to Live.” What was it like working with him?
Well actually the remixing procedure these days is done over the internet since we live in different countries) by sending each other MIDI files and the final vocals. We were quite happy to have Trance Arts remix us again, he did a great job on Heat.
Are you guys currently on tour and where?
Sorry mate, we haven’t had the chance yet, we’re still awfully busy with several productions that are coming out shortly, but we’re hoping for some gigs abroad soon. We would love to play in Kuala Lumpur some day! These days, we’re on the lookout for a good management agency.
There was some talk about a C-Systems collaboration with Jonas Hornblad. Tell us more.
Well, first of all, Jonas Hornblad is a great producer and we were thrilled to have a chance to work with him. We got contacted by his record label on a song he was in the making of, and they wanted us to do a collab with him. We said “Sure, it would be great,” and we soon shared some ideas on how to make the sound for our remix version. Again, we asked Hanna Finsen to do some vocals and quickly made a almost final product. We are still working on that release. We hope for a big response on that when the promos are out.

Any plans for a full C-Systems album or compilation?
We have discussed that a lot because we’re getting a lot of requests. The answer so far has been: Yes, but not now.
What are you guys currently working on? Any collaborations or a vocal track perhaps?
Right now, our new single ”Don’t Turn Around” is being released on Apocalypse Recordings. That’s a great tune, we hope people will like it. Very good remixes as well by Jaco & Lemon (from Lemon & Einar K) and Goran Toprek. Besides that we are currently working on two things now, our next release and a remix for an artist on Unearthed Records, Jo Micali. That’s also gonna be a huge release. We might include it in our guestmix, exclusively for you guys.
What are your current favourite tracks at the moment?
Actually we have several Favorites for the moment, to name some that are sticking to our heads these days:
Artento Divini – Biding My Time , Gaia – Tuvan, and always some Gareth Emery choons, we love that guy :) You can also find our top ten for each month on the Juno music store online.
How would you describe C-Systems sound in 3 words.
Uplifting, Groovy and Good Melodies.
And lastly any message to fans reading this!
Thanks for supporting us so far, We hope to give you all more of the C-Systems sound. Hoping for your continuous support on future releases and seeing you on our upcoming gigs. Hope you all like our guest mix.
