Nothing To Hide Beat Service
Jul 6th
There’s no telling where the next biggest trance track will originate from these days, since dance music is now a global phenomenon, and many producers have cropped up from new musical territories around the globe. Estonian producer Madis Sillamo, better known as Beat Service, joins the ranks of this year’s talents that we’re keeping a close eye on. He ventured into EDM as a DJ in 2000, and after 7 years of a succesful career live on stage, he decided to move into creating tunes.
It’s a great thing that he took this step and ventured into production, since he has manufactured originals and remixed gems such as “Invisible Touch,” “Infinity 2008,” “Nothing At All,” “I Know,” “Nectar,” “Insider,” and most recently, “Hiding To Nothing.” Madis has the ability to create music that has garnered support by Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, and Tiesto, even being handpicked for their personal compilations. Within the last 3 years, his accolades have already included working with George Acosta, Tiff Lacey, Rex Mundi, and DNS Project.
Beat Service makes music we love, so we’ve invited him to guestmix on Radio KUL this weekend. Here he is for this exclusive Extra interview.

Beat Service
Hi Madis, it’s great to be talking to you today. Where are you currently and what’s new?
Hi guys, the pleasure is all mine. I’m currently in Estonia, working on my new track and finishing a couple of new remixes, busy times!
You’ve worked with Emma Lock twice so far on “Cut and Run” and “Hiding To Nothing.” How did you guys meet?
Yeah, we worked twice on a track and already finished a third one, oops that’s supposed to be a secret.. We met via MySpace, I was looking for a talented singer and Emma was so kind to reply me and so the story begins…
Being able to create remixes for Susana and George Acosta is no easy feat! How would you define a Beat Service remix?
Thanks! A Beat Service Remix? Well I’m always trying to “beat” the original, so I put a lot of effort into my remixes. I’m a huge fan of melodic and big breakdowns, good vocals and progressive rhythms and I think you can find it all from a decent Beat Service Remix :)
Tell us about some of your favourite plugins / instruments that you use on your music.
There’s a lot of good plugins out there, but the ones I use the most are definitely Echoboys, Zebra, Sylenth, Battery, Kontakt, Nexus …. I just love them!
On the average, how long does it take to come up with a brand new track and what goes into the process?
Well it really depends… I’ve created tracks from 2 days to 1 month. So yeah, it’s all about inspiration, mood etc. Thank God I’m usually “in the mood!” “Cut and Run” for example took me a month, I’m used to trying out all the ideas and finally figuring out the best one for that track. Takes a bit longer then usual, but totally worth it :)
Who are some of your favourite producers / artistes at the moment?
I’m a huge fan of Arty right now. My all time favourites are Cosmic Gate, Armin Van Buuren, Dash Berlin, First State, Nic Chagall, Rank 1, etc.

Any plans for Beat Service to make a full length album? Have you ever thought about this?
I have been thinking about it yes, but I think there’s still time for that. Have to work harder and raise my profile more :)
Any highlights for the remainder of 2010?
2010 has been my most successful year so far. Pretty much all of my tracks have been supported by the biggest names around and what more could I want? Things are going really well for me and lots of productions are constantly ongoing. Just finished a remix for Lange and there’s more coming up! I’m happy that my homelabel is Armada Music and there’s another new release signed, so things are good :)
And when can fans expect to see Beat Service live at a club or arena near them?
Well my “international gigs department” just opened this year and people outside from Estonia can see me in Dublin this September and you might see me in USA too this year. Keep your eyes open and check all the info on my website :) Of course there’s a lot of gigs in Estonia too, I think one of the biggest ones is with Myon and Shane 54, Ruben De Ronde, John O’Callaghan, Aly and Fila, etc. on 23rd and 24th of July.
Lastly, any message to fans and supporters around the world reading this.
I wanna thank you all for the great support and I will try my best to keep my flag high! Cheers :)
