Destiny Catches Up With Aneym
May 31st
Singer Aneym will be guesthosting this week’s Radio KUL. She’s had a big breakthrough this year with “Far Away,” the first single from the new Nitrous Oxide album Dreamcatcher.
This Polish singer, real name Anna Mielniczuk, has already worked with Sceleton (“Gettin High With Me,” “Rain Down”), Ronski Speed (“Manic Star,” “Drift Away”), Krzysztof Chochłow aka DJ KC (“Talk To Me”), Sunny Lax (“Mique”), Sean Tyas (“Melbourne”), Zaa (“Feel Safe”), Tenisha (“Stranger To Myself”) and many others. Dance music is where she excels, and she also DJs under the alias of en-STYLE. But Aneym also bends her style and vocals for other genres with great results, proving her versatility.
Here is our exclusive interview with Aneym.

Aneym
Aneym, it’s such a pleasure to have this opportunity to speak with you. Where are you currently?
Hi, same here! I’m from Biała Podlaska, Poland but I’m currently living in Budapest, Hungary. I moved here some months ago.
“Far Away” has been a massive record! How did the opportunity to work with Nitrous Oxide come about?
I was lucky to collaborate with Krzysztof Prętkiewicz aka Nitrous Oxide though we haven’t got a chance to meet personally yet! The work on the tracks were done via the Internet. Krzysztof contacted me at the end of 2008 and asked if I could collaborate with him. Soon after he sent me the demo of “Far Away” and I fell in love with it! I got the main idea of the track after listening to it a few times in a row. We had some ups and downs, and almost gave up the project! It took us almost 1 and half year to get to the final version of “Far Away.” Fortunately Tony McGuinness from Above & Beyond and Justine Suissa from OceanLab helped us to finish the song. I’m glad that we have succeeded to finish the track with such a satisfying end result.
Well, you’ve actually worked on quite a few tracks and you’re a DJ yourself for some time now. Tell us about some of the dance tracks that have featured your vocals.
I’ve had some tracks on collaborations of different genres, simply because I am inspired by so many genres and I like trying new things. My first official club track was actually “Talk To Me” with a Polish DJ and producer named Krzysztof Chochłow aka DJ KC. Thanks to Manic Star and Ronski Speed, I got some recognition in the trance music scene. I’m also the voice behind tracks such as “Take A Look And See” by Motion Blur, “Epicentre” by Epicentre, and “Mique” by Sunny Lax. In 2009 I had few releases with producers Sceleton (breakbeat house), Zaa (progressive trance), Feeltz (uplifting trance), and Andre Nikkensen (chillout).
When you first set out to venture into singing, did you ever think your voice would be heard by millions of music lover and clubbers around the world? Was it an uphill climb to get to where you were?
I never thought that I would come this far. I had some moments of giving up my dreams but my destiny has found me so I couldn’t deny myself any longer. Deep in my heart, I’ve always felt that sooner or later I’d find a way to express myself through singing and writing.
Tell us a bit about personal life. Are you currently seeing anyone and how else do you spend your time besides making music?
Yes, I have a Hungarian boyfriend. His name is Peter. We met via MySpace almost two years ago and soon after we became a couple. Peter is a fantastic uplifting trance producer under the alias Emotional Horizons and also my manager. Besides making music I enjoy cooking very much, and I love spending time with nature and my pets. I relax by reading books, listening to all kinds of music, going to the movies, and meeting my friends, that kind of stuff. But I seldom watch TV, I find it disturbing! I actually used to paint too and I’d like to get back to it one day. And, I have a full time job because I treat my artistic work as a hobby.

If you could work with any artiste or producer from any genre, who would it be?
There are plenty of producers with whom I’d like to collaborate! I’d love to work on some funky house music. I adore the works of Full Intention, Hott 22, Moto Blanco and Freemasons.
Who do you credit for your success in music to date?
First of all, God. And of course I owe it to such talented producers like Sceleton, Nitrous Oxide, and Ronski Speed. I’m so grateful that I had a chance to work with them.
How does it feel to be guesthosting this week’s Radio KUL! You’ll be introducing the one and only Jorn van Deynhoven who will be providing the guestmix.
Well, it’s a new experience and honour for sure! Thank you for giving me the opportunity!
What are your plans like for the rest of the year? Any appearances of releases that you’re excited about! Will you perhaps be making a stop in Asia soon?
For the past few months I’ve taken a break from recording. I’m constantly looking for inspiration and at the moment, I’m involved in two experimental projects. Last year I worked on some projects that will be released soon – “Dance With Me” with Zaa, “Nobody Knows” with Emotional Horizons and X-Plorations, and “It Takes Time” with Adam
Kancerski aka Nucvise. I’ll also be performing live with Tenishia on 12th of June in Malta which I’m very excited about! Currently there are no plans to visit Asia but I hope to be there soon.
And lastly, any message to your fans around the world reading this!
I’d like to say a huge thanks and send bear hugs to all my supporters! You’re so awe-inspiring!
