Anticipating Miracle Moments From Andy Duguid
May 24th
For many years now, Andy Duguid has been progressively driving the scene with quality records such as “Don’t Belong,” “Signals, “Satisfaction Guaranteed,” “Falling,” “Dejavoodoo,” and of course, “Wasted.” Also, who won’t forget his remixes for Mark Pledger featuring Melinda Gareh (“Time Stands Still”), Filo & Peri (“Ashley”), Tiesto featuring Nelly Furtado (“Who Wants To Be Alone”), and Richard Durand (“No Way Home”). Andy’s name is now synonymous with best selling records that are both fan and DJ favourites, not to mention a constant selection on respected mix compilations.
His remix for Fred Baker “Saona” is included on the Ferry Corsten compilation Once Upon A Night and the new track by Motionchild & Will Holland featuring Tiff Lacey “Arctic Kiss” that also received the Duguid treatment is picking up fast on airplay and sales charts. His also busy working on a new compilation for Black Hole Recordings and he has once again collaborated with vocalist Leah for a new release.
This weekend, he will be in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia performing live. So we’ve asked him to guestmix on this week’s edition of Radio KUL. And this is our interview with him.

Andy Duguid
Andy, great to be speaking with you. Where are you currently?
I’m in my studio in Aberdeenshire, Scotland working on my new mix compilation Miracle Moments.
How did the remix for “Time Stands Still” come about?
Well, Rich (Solarstone) gave me a call and asked if I’d be interested in remixing a track for his label. I heard the track and thought it would be a good track to mess around with it and come up with something completely different. I loved the vocal in the original so it was hard for me (being a vocal lover) to chop it up. But, in the end, it turned out OK!
“Dejavoodoo” is a great sounding track that’s been given the seal of approval from all the major league names. Any plans for remixes?
No plans as of yet for remixes. But, in the future might be nice to do a second release package.
It was interesting to see you collaborate with Mr. Sam and Amanda Wilson on “Satisfaction Guaranteed.” A very radio friendly record. How did you 3 get together for this one?
Well, Mr Sam called me one day and asked for me to do a production job on an idea he had. He flew over to Scotland and I produced the track for him from his previous demo. We discussed possible vocalists and Amanda’s name kept popping up so Sam worked his magic on her! All of the tracks with Mr Sam has worked the same way.

So what are the plans like for the rest of the year – any festivals, remixes, and releases that we should know about?
Firstly, I’m releasing a new mix compilation through Black Hole Recordings called Miracle Moments in the summer. I’ve already started to work on my Second album which I hope to release at the end of the year. As for live performances, I wil have the Miracle Moments tour kicking off late summer which will take me to all 4 corners of the planet. I have my agency in America now putting together my tour out there which will be exciting. But before all that I’m heading out to play for you!! Cant wait! :)
Which artistes in the EDM scene currently captures your attention, and why?
I’m really into Michael Woods as of late. His productions are massive! You really appreciate them when they are played on a big system!
And tell us a bit about your personal life. What keeps you busy when you’re not making music or touring?
I’m quite a homely guy. I like being around friends and family. Enjoy nights in with some Chinese food and good DVDs. Simple things please me :)
There’s a rumour that “Wasted” was produced in a span of only 3 hours. Is this true?
It is true. I work quite fast on my productions. It may not seem that way as I release only a few a year but I’m very picky with what I release! :) In fact, too picky sometimes.
What can fans expect from the gig here in Malaysia? Are you excited?
I’m really excited. I was having a chat with friend of mine who is a pilot and I told him I was heading to KL and he says it’s his favourite place on earth. He has given me a list of things to do once there! The fans can expect a full on night and a first ever listen to my new collaboration with Leah!
Lastly, any message to your fans reading this.
Can’t wait to come and play for you all. Hope you are ready for a full on epic night!
