Aly & Fila Releases Rising Sun
May 17th
The duo from Egypt, Aly Amr Fathalah and Fadi Wassef Naguib, better known as Aly & Fila, have already established themselves in the dance scene as respected producers and performers. Launched in 2003 and today a top 100 global DJ act, they have remixed for The Thrillseekers, Darren Tate, Armin van Buuren, Lange, DJ Shah, Filo & Peri, Ferry Corsten and many more. On their own they will always be remembered for “Key of Life,” “Lost Language,” and “Spirit of Ka.” Their music label Future Sound of Egypt (FSOE) is responsible for discoveries such as Arctic Moon, Dennis Pedersen, Static Blue, and Oliver P.
And now, finally, their long awaited debut artist album Rising Sun will soon be in stores on May 29th onwards. You’ve already heard some tracks from this album from their live gigs in the recent weeks, and the first single “My Mind Is With You” featuring Denise Rivera is already picking up a lot of steam.
This week, they’ll be appearing on Radio KUL with an exclusive preview of Rising Sun. Here is our Extra interview with Aly & Fila.

Aly & Fila
Hi guys, it’s great to be speaking to both of you. Where are you guys currently?
We’re current in Cairo, Egypt preparing for the launch of the new album!
29th May is the big day when the brand new album Rising Sun will be launched. Are you guys excited and how has the response been to the first single “My Mind Is With You?”
Yes! The response has been overwhelming and we really hope everyone enjoys the album.
During the recent A State of Trance 450, you guys previewed some of the tracks from the new album. Tell us about these tracks.
We wanted to give the clubbers a preview of some of the tracks, among them were “I Can Hear You” featuring Sue McLaren and “Breeze” featuring Jass. “Breeze” was played on last week’s A State of Trance too so please vote for it for the Future Favourite!
Overall, how long did it take to produce this album and what is the general theme and sound of the release?
We have been working on it for over 12 months. You can expect some typical Aly & Fila tracks on this album and some surprises too!.
Which are some of the artistes that you’re excited to feature on Rising Sun?
We have Activa, Phillipe el Sisi, Akesson, Josie, Tiff Lacey and a few more.
Your label, Future Sound of Egypt (FSOE) has been credited for bringing to the surface a lot of Egyptian dance producers. It’s great that you both are home proud. How else are you helping to develop the scene there?
We are very proud to be Egyptian, and there are plenty of Egyptian coming through who have signed to our label such as Brave, Philipe el sisi, Mohamed Rageb, etc. And we also have our radio show Future Sound of Egypt on Egypt’s leading FM station Nile FM. We’re doing our best to push the Egyptian scene.
At the moment how many gigs on the average are you guys performing, and is there a favourite place to perform?
We tend to perform an average 7 to 10 gigs a month. That’s a hard question – we love playing everywhere and each event or country is special in its own way.
Looks like every year seems brighter for Aly and Fila. What do you both hope to accomplish this year? Any target milestones?
We are massively thankful for the support of everyone – the fans, promoters, DJs, radio, magazines, etc. We just want to always improve on all aspects of Aly & Fila, from our music to our live performances.
Any chance you’ll be coming back to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia anytime soon!
Our management is working on some possible dates for Kuala Lumpur, we would love to return to Zouk again!
And lastly, any message for your fans around the world reading this!
Massive thanks to you all! You inspire us and hope you enjoy Rising Sun!
