It’s been barely a year since EDM sensation Hardwell last visited Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, yet he has achieved plenty. Through his releases “Zero 76,” “Encoded,” “Ready 2 Go”, “The World,” “Passion,” and “Cobra,” he has solidified himself as an international superstar, a capable producer, and a talented performer. Hardwell has just been nominated as Best Breakthrough DJ at this year’s International Dance Music Awards. Having toured the globe and performed at major festivals and the world’s top clubs, we’re excited to have Hardwell in the city again this weekend.

Robert .. it’s definitely been a huge 2011 for you! Happy New Year and thanks for taking time out for this interview. Where are you answering this currently and how was your NYE?
I’m at home at the moment in Breda. My NYE was really nice, I was in San diego and LA and it was the first time for me to be abroad on NYE. I had a great time!

We love your bootleg of “Levels.” Any chance you’ll be working with Avicii in the future?
I would love to. We discussed it a few times, but no plans for cooperation so far.

Having to remix the classic “Love Comes Again” must have been quite a challenge. Was it a challenge to get the Hardwell sound into this record?
Yes, it was really hard to keep the original sound of the track, that’s actually why it is a ‘rework’ instead of a ‘remix.’ I gave that original Hardwell sound to it.

We watched the making of “Munster” with JoeySuki on your YouTube channel. How did the both of you meet?
We’ve known each other for 5 years now. We’ve met at different gigs in Holland. We both had some ideas, and with those ideas we started working together.

Can you share with us the craziest thing you’ve seen while touring as DJ so far?
One time, when I was at a gig in Holland, a monitor box fell on the mixer. Everything broke and the party had to stop because of that. That was kind of crazy.

Any chance a full blown Hardwell album is coming soon?
No, not yet. I have my focus on remixes and track releases now. An album is something for the future.

What’s in store for your label Revealed Recordings this year?
We’ll be working with some great new artists. Dyro and Dannic are the two to look out for.

What’s an essential item in your DJ bag?
Definitely my Macbook & my USBs.

Once again, we’re looking forward to hosting you in Zouk in February! It’s been just a year since your last visit. What can clubbers expect from your set this time around? :)
Clubbers prepare yourself for an even bigger and crazier party than last year. You will hear a lot of new Hardwell tracks. Get ready!
